Cultural heritage:
Historic city of Castro Urdiales. Church and fortified house in Otañes.
Old remains of the Castro-Traslaviña mining railway: there are a lot of mining remains around Castro Urdiales. Along the greenway we encounter the station of Otañes, the Capataza house, and the Los Corrales way station, La Carmelita ore deposits, Los Vados viaduct, and the remains of the Herreros mining village.
Infrastructure:
Greenway. The station at Otañes has been refurbished as a hostel. San Juan bridge, overpass over the Baltezana road, Los Vados viaduct, and the Herreros tunnel (not fitted with lighting).

Signage, rest area and hostel at the old station at Otañes.
Greenway accesses:
Santullán
Start of the route (northern end): At the lower end of the village of Santullán. El Campillo district. Near the cemetery.
Along the CA-250 road towards Santullán. On reaching the village centre, take asphalted track to the left which drops sharply towards the Santullán cemetery.
Barrio de Los Corrales
The asphalt track which climbs from the CA-250 road to the Barrio de Los Corrales district and crosses the greenway.
Otañes
From the village of Otañes, a track climbs to the old Otañes station.

Connections:
Castro Urdiales: 75 km to Santander and 35 km to Bilbao.
The Castro-Traslaviña Greenway is connected to the Castro-Alen ‘Greenway’ (it is not developed), by the asphalted track that runs from the Barrio de Los Corrales down to the CA-250 road.
